Let me start by saying
that I am not a medical doctor. I cannot diagnose, heal, treat, or cure.
My job is to assess your diet, and your state of homeostasis (or
balance), and to use therapeutic lifestyle changes and nutriceuticals to
help you get back into balance.
My Philosophy is naturopathically based; that is, that the body can heal
itself if given what it needs to do so. Illness, or disease, is not the
result of a drug deficiency, but a deficiency of the nutrients needed to
function optimally AND the overwhelming exposure to toxins, which hinder
function and deplete energy. If imbalances are identified early, illness
may be prevented. If illness is already present, the body may be
prompted to move toward health. I am a facilitator and educator. You do
the work by implementing the specifically designed program.
How Does Disease Happen?
We overload the body with processed, genetically modified, refined
foods.
Food today is genetically modified, cross-bred, planted in nutrient
deficient soil with just the basic minerals added as chemical
fertilizers. We pick it before it is ripe to allow for shipping, then we
gas it and wax it to extend shelf life and appearance. Basically, it is
possible that eating a salad isnt always the healthiest choice.
Lets talk about packaged and refined foods.
If the food is processed, something has been taken out of it (more than
likely, it was a healthy part). When flour or rice is refined to make it
white, the nutrients that help process carbohydrates are removed. All
that is left is the starch, which changes to sugar and without the
minerals, etc, the body has to work harder to use these foods. This same
scenario occurs with any refined grain, dehydrated food, powdered food
substitute, canned product and even regular table salt.
Toxins
Toxins come in through the food we eat, the air we breathe, the water we
drink, the cleansers we use, the stain resistors on our carpets, the
out-gassing of laminated woods and dry cleaning chemicals, the
cosmetics, deodorants, and moisturizers we apply, the medications we
take and the fillings in our mouths, etc. The list goes on and on. There
is no way to avoid them all, and inevitably, the numbers continue to
grow. If we eliminate the ones we can, and help the body detoxify the
ones we cant, health becomes more evident.
If the toxic burdens are reduced, by eliminating the processed,
nutrient-depleted foods, while wholesome, organic foods are added to
provide the necessary nutrients and sensitivities are avoided, then
energy and needed nutrients will usually be available for the body to
heal itself.
You make the
lifestyle changes; I simply guide you through the process.
